George

mid-February 2006
Here is George, cuddling our neighbour Vianne.
She doesn't look very enamoured but he was having a great time!
mid-Novermber 2005
He finally walked at 14 months. All the procrastination meant that one day
he just...walked!
mid-September 2005
George is now nearly 1. He is well into crawling, and pulling himself up on things.
Walking isn't
too far away, but it doesn't look as though he'll beat his sister who walked at
1.
He is a real Adams boy in that he just loves his food. As you can see he's
starting food appreciation at a young age.

His nicknames are Chubby
Child, Georgie Porgie, Porgie Pie,
Puddin' and Pie, (guess where those come from!?!) and Schrunchkin because he is
so cuddly.
His favourite game is playing "chase" around the house - crawling of course! He
shrieks with terror or excitement and crawls away,
then looks over his shoulder or comes back and lets me tickle him.
He seems to love being touched and tickled.

George started crawling properly at 9 months old. Here are a few photos of him. Poor boy - he is so neglected picture-wise, but rest assured that he is very much loved othewise!
|
No longer can I just put him down in our room unattended! I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth, and this is what greeted me upon my return!

mid-April
oh my. I really have been slack. At this age, Lucia had half-a-dozen
pages dedicated to her. George would be lucky to have that many pictures!
Here George is in Melbourne for Randall & Cath's wedding. Lucia stayed home with
Gamma Robyn.

6 February
George Tasman Adams was christened at St Luke's Anglican Church in
Greytown, by John Pinner. He was wearing a christening gown made by his
great-grandmother, which his father and sister were christened in as well.
George was very well-behaved, charming everyone in the congregation as he was
passed around.
Paul and Rosa O'Connor are the godparents. The day was hot hot hot, and we had a
party afterwards at the Greytown Cricket Club.
The star of the party was the plunge-pool filled with water!

mid-January
Well, George is 3 1/2 months old, or rather nearly 4 months old now. His
mother (that's me) is everlastingly grateful that his sleeping habits are much
more stable, and he generally only wakes up once per night for 15 minutes. Thank
you Gina Ford (and the Contented Little Baby Book)!
He weighs at least 8kg (18lbs) which is huge for a baby that's not 4 months old! He's a bit too heavy to carry around, but I do love to hold him as he is so calm and placid and smells delicious!
|
He's my little toy boy, so naturally I had to pose him naked on a leopardskin rug. |
grinning out through the folds! |
mid-november 2004
Bubba is 6 weeks old now, and he deserves an updated web page for being such a good sleeper. (Relatively - it's all relative.)
His nicknames are Kaloo, La (because he used to sound like he was saying "la" quite piteously when crying), or Bubba (which is Lucia's way of saying Baby, since she can't say George yet.) Oh, and he gets called Grunty too - guess why?
|
I took these photos trying to capture his beautiful smile, which transforms him from "little old man" to "cute wee baby". |
just in case you ask, his hair is NOT ginger. |

Lucia does love her little brother, but she wants to hold
him constantly. Or she tries to shove the dummy in his mouth if he's crying.
Or she tries to rock him, or give him to me. Or she tries to pull him
off me when she decides she wants the attention more!
They tell me that soon she won't remember a time before New Baby, and I look forward to it! As for Daisy Dog, she constantly wants to lick him! Unfortunately nature has conditioned him to open his mouth when something warm is nearby! Vanilla Cat, on the other hand,
severely resents the new interloper. Having taken a secret liking to him
pram, she was not amused when he took up residence. She made her
displeasure known by doing her poos right in the middle of it. When that was
taken out to be washed, she weed all over the padding on the inside.

Here is George at 20
weeks in utero., or so they say! |
And here is proud Daddy, having just dressed the new baby for the first time in hospital. |
